Sensory Information
At Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, we want every visitor to feel comfortable and supported during their visit. We understand that sensory needs vary from person to person, and we are committed to providing information, resources and spaces that help guests plan a day out that works for them. This page outlines the quieter times to visit, available sensory support, and areas across the zoo that may help you take breaks when needed.
Quieter Times To Visit
We understand that some visitors may prefer to experience the zoo when it is less busy and more relaxed. In general, the zoo is quieter during term-time weekdays, on Sundays, and during the school holidays between approximately 3–5pm, when many visitors begin to head home.
We also recognise that some areas of the zoo can occasionally feel overwhelming. While we do not yet have a dedicated quiet space, there are a number of calmer areas you can easily access during your visit, including:
- Quiet lawn behind the Gibbons enclosure – accessible from behind the Food Barn (please ask a member of staff for directions).
- Area between the Rhea and Bear enclosures – a peaceful spot located just beyond the giraffe enclosure.
We are also in the process of developing a dedicated quiet space within our Project Carnivora area, and we will share updates as this progresses.
For those looking for a more relaxed experience, we also recommend our Late Entry option. At this time of day, the zoo is typically quieter, offering a calmer atmosphere to explore. Further details and booking information for discounted late entry can be found via the link below.
Sensory Guide
To help support visitors with additional sensory needs, we have created a sensory guide to assist with planning your visit. You will also notice sensory signage around the zoo, highlighting areas where there may be increased sensory input.
Sensory Bag Hire
We now offer sensory bag hire, which includes our sensory guide alongside useful items such as ear defenders, fidget toys and a sand timer. These can be pre-booked in advance via the link below.
