Maternity Cover, Animal Keeper - West Section
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm has an opening to join our committed team of animal keepers on a full-time basis covering Maternity leave on our West section. The role is 40-hours per week on a flexible rota which includes weekends and bank holidays. This will be on a minimum 9-month contract.
This role will play a full and active role in the daily running of the section across all species, so prior experience is required. We expect applicants to have knowledge and practical experience of at least some of the species concerned, a strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude to problem solving, good team working and communication skills as well as the ability to maintain high standards of hygiene.
Species held on West Section: African Lions, Tiger, Spectacled Bears, Coatis, Tapirs, Capybaras, Maras, Giant Anteater, Armadillos, Poison Dart Frogs.
Applicants must:
· Be familiar with the care required for a variety of species on section.
· Have an animal- based qualification.
· Be highly motivated.
· Have high standards of hygiene when working.
· Have a full driving licence.
Other job holder expectations:
· Assist in the daily management and care of all animals on section, including food preparation and feeding, enclosure maintenance, enrichment, and training.
· Deliver talks, encounters, and experiences to our visitors.
· Drive the company vehicle for collection of resources, e.g. meat and veterinary supplies.
· Contribute to a positive team culture.
Salary: Level 1 Keeper: £26,561.60 per annum (£12.77 per hour).

First stage interviews will take place via zoom, with a few select candidates being invited to the zoo for a second stage, which will include a trial working on section and a second interview.
