Where Volunteering Can Take You at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm

“Volunteering with the Elephant team for two years gave me the tools and the confidence to pursue a zoo keeping role. Without my experience as a volunteer, I wouldn't have my dream career today,” says Hannah, whose story is a fantastic example of where passion and dedication can lead.

Hannah spent her volunteer years working closely with our herd of African bull elephants - Shaka, Janu, Uli and Sutton. Her commitment, hard work, and love for the herd have now led her into a full-time position as part of our Elephant team.

After stepping into her new role as Elephant Keeper six months ago, Hannah continues to care for the elephants she knows so well, helping to support their daily routines, welfare, and enrichment.

Her journey shows just how valuable volunteering can be for gaining hands-on experience and building a future in animal care.
