Rescue Tiger Appeal: Help Us Build a Forever Home for Aqua
16th Feb 2025
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm has launched an ambitious new mission — to build a permanent, specialist home for a rescued tiger named Aqua, as part of our wider Project Carnivora initiative.
We’re aiming to raise £175,000 to construct a purpose-built enclosure that will give Aqua the safety, care, and enrichment he deserves. After surviving the illegal wildlife trade and years of recovery, he now needs your help to complete his journey.
Aqua’s Story
In October 2019, a horsebox carrying ten tigers was stopped at the Poland-Belarus border. The animals were being trafficked in shocking conditions — cramped, neglected, and visibly distressed. One tiger sadly died before help could arrive.
The remaining nine tigers were seized and placed in temporary care at Poznan Zoo. In December 2019, five of them — Aqua, Softi, Toph, Merida and Sanson — were transferred to the respected animal rescue charity AAP Primadomus in Spain for long-term rehabilitation.
Aqua was one of the most traumatised of the group. Over time, thanks to expert care, he began to recover, but he remains the only one of the five still without a permanent home.

A Future at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm
We have designed a habitat tailored to Aqua’s physical and behavioural needs. The enclosure will offer space to roam, areas to rest, and features such as two large ponds — ideal for a tiger who enjoys water and needs stimulation for his wellbeing.
This rescue habitat will reflect the highest standards of welfare and conservation, offering Aqua a peaceful and permanent sanctuary.
