Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm has listened to their customer feedback and is proud to announce the opening of their ‘Ark for All’ project. Following on from their recent partnership with Bristol’s Mobility Centre allowing visitors to hire wheelchairs for free and mobility scooters for a small hire charge, Noah’s Ark is taking further steps. This initiative has seen the building of a new Changing Places toilet complete with hoist and changing bed. The zoo is also creating an accessible play zone with a wheelchair accessible roundabout and basket swings. Alongside this, Noah’s Ark is unveiling a series of accessible signage, designed in conjunction with the National Autistic Society Out of School Clubs in Bristol, around the animal enclosures, including illustrated sentences describing the animals.

Ark for All will be opened at midday on Wednesday 25th July by Andy Lewis, MBE, European, World and Paralympic Champion. Andy Lewis will be talking to visitors at the opening about his own life experiences. Visitors will also be able to compare their running speeds to Andy Lewis and some of the animals at the zoo.

Noah’s Ark is hoping this development will enable more visitors to enjoy a fun and active day out at the zoo with the family. This latest development is just part of Noah’s Ark’s 5 year plan to become more accessible.
