A letter to the Met Office ☂️

11th Mar 2026

Today, we have joined more than 80 outdoor attractions across the UK in calling for a simple but meaningful change to how daily weather forecasts are shown on popular apps. 🌦️

At the moment, a single weather icon is often used to represent an entire 24-hour period. While it may seem like a small detail, that symbol can heavily influence how people plan their day. For outdoor attractions like ours, it can mean families cancelling plans even when there are plenty of dry, enjoyable hours to spend outside.

That’s why we’ve signed a joint letter led by Chester Zoo and Navigate Agency, addressed to the Met Office. As the UK’s most trusted weather authority, the Met Office has an opportunity to help lead the way in improving how daily forecasts are displayed, giving people a clearer picture of the day ahead.

At Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, we know the weather can be unpredictable. That’s why we offer a Rainy Day Guarantee - if heavy rain cuts your visit short, you can come back and visit us again for free. It’s just one of the ways we help ensure families can still enjoy a great day out, whatever the forecast.

A more accurate snapshot of daily weather could make a real difference -helping families feel confident about planning days out, while supporting the many outdoor attractions that contribute to local economies, jobs, and memorable experiences.

Sometimes, a small change in how information is presented can have a big impact. ☂️
