Catering Supervisor
We are looking to recruit an experienced Supervisor to support our senior management team with the smooth day-to-day running of the Catering team.
This is a key role as a Supervisor you will take full responsibility for supervising and leading the team within the food barn and catering outlets around the 100-acre site, we are looking for someone that can motivate the team, delegate tasks and doesn’t mind getting stuck in.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who works well under pressure as part of a team and alone using your own initiative.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the daily management of the day-to-day running of the catering team in the Catering Manager’s absence.
· To work alongside the Catering Manager and Senior Supervisors to ensure the smooth running of the business.
· Assist with training new and existing members of staff.
· Delegating tasks and ensuring that a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times.
· To deal with customer complaints and queries politely and efficiently.
· To monitor customer demand and flow to make decisions about staffing and customer queuing times. To manage customer expectations at all times, including peak and quiet days.
· To communicate (verbally and/or by the radio) with supervisors and catering assistants across all catering outlets and kiosks to ensure staffing, food, drink, supplies, cash, and security are well managed throughout each day.
· Be highly organised able to use initiative to solve problems.
· Assist in the record keeping of staff development, stock ordering and rota’s on excel and word, plus working with other IT programmes.
· Assist in the opening and closing of the food barn and catering outlets, help with cashing up and ensure all the relevant checks are done correctly.
· Oversee the security of the food barn and catering outlets, ensuring they are left safe and locked securely when closing each day.
Other duties:
· Barista trained, as will be making a multitude of hot drinks in the food barn, catering kiosks.
· Cooking in the catering kiosks as and when required.
· To drive the catering buggy as required; to move stock to other catering outlets around the site.
· Be flexible and able to work additional hours when required.
Skill & Experience:
· Strong leadership skills.
· Experience in a supervisory role within a catering and/or visitor attraction/ hospitality sector.
· Cooking experience – Essential
· Calm under pressure.
· Supportive team player.
· Adaptable and flexible.
· Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
· Confident using Microsoft Office.
Work Pattern:
This is a part-time, position, working every Sunday or
Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Shift flexibility will be discussed further at interview.
This is a permanent position.
Hours of work: 10am – 5pm.
Salary: £12.50 per hour
