It’s going to be a Happy New Year at Noah’s Ark!

29th Dec 2014

With only a few days left of 2014 (and what a great year it’s been!), we thought we would tell you why we’re especially excited about the year that lies ahead. Christmas Day may be over (*sigh*), but there’s plenty to look forward to here at Noah’s Ark in 2015…

Heated indoor play barns New for 2015, all indoor play barns and the main ‘Ark Arena’ at Noah’s Ark will be heated, meaning a toasty atmosphere for both children and adults alike. What’s more, we’re remaining environmentally-friendly by using a biomass boiler, which will be linked up to our indoor areas to provide extra warmth for our visitors; ideal for these chilly winter months.

Elephant Eden program As you know, our ground-breaking Elephant Eden was opened in 2014, becoming what has been described as a ‘five-star luxury resort for elephants’. But it doesn’t stop there. 2015 will bring further development of our Elephant Eden program; we hope to see more elephants step through our doors, and research and planning is being carried out as we type!

New membership and till operating systems We’re always looking to become more tech-savvy, and 2015 will see our brand new membership and till operating systems come into play, giving our customers speedier transactions. Plus, our professional membership scheme will come with exclusive plastic cards for members. And don’t forget; our extended season means that we are now open from January 3rd 2015 until December 19th 2015, giving you more time to enjoy our wonderful zoo.

School trip developments Noah’s Ark is extremely popular with school trips, as it provides great learning opportunities for all ages and abilities. Our ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ accredited Education Programme helps teachers communicate the National Curriculum in a fun and exciting environment, but this year we are going one step further to improve our range of workshops and resources – all of which will retain their hands-on focus.

Amazing Animals Finally, let’s not forget the reason why Noah’s Ark has stood the test of time and is as popular as ever: it’s thanks to our amazing animals. Our big zoo animals include rhinos, elephants, giraffes and lions – and they continue to have our guests in awe every time. And our primates – including siamang gibbons, ruffed and ring-tailed lemurs and tamarins – are just adorable. Come and see them for yourselves! What’s more, did you know you and your little ones can get up close and hands-on with a variety of animals? At Noah’s Ark, you can hand-feed animals such as camels and deer and get to hold rabbits, chicks and guinea pigs!
