Green Christmas

Saturday 17th November to Saturday 22nd December

Here at Noah’s Ark we are committed to protecting our local environment and future-proofing the park to reduce our carbon impact as well as teaching the next generation how to care for the natural world and become more sustainable. We are the proud winners of multiple awards for our sustianable efforts.

This Christmas we're going all out with our Green efforts to show that Christmas needn't cost the Earth. The zoo will be decorated with elaborate recycled Christmas decorations. The animals will be joining in too as the keepers will continue to make special recycled animal enrichment. All the while you'll be guided around the zoo by our energy efficient Christmas light trail.

Highlights:

History and Mystery of Christmas trail - Come and learn all about the Christmas story. Find out why Robins feature on Christmas cards and why Rudolph the Reindeer is so famous. Grab your map from the ticket office and take a festive walk around the zoo.

LED light trail - Winter is a notoriously cold and dark time of year but don't let this put you off a visit to the zoo. We will be illuminating your way with a magical trail of lights. Don't worry their eco friendly too, these LED bulbs are energy efficient.

Recycled Christmas Decorations - We would like to show you how easy it is to make your home look super festive on a low budget and whilst helping the planet. From wreaths made of plastic bags to Christmas trees made of pallet boxes. We have also teamed up with our suppliers and asked them to make giant animal structures from their waste materials.

Save the date:

Saturday 1st December - A special Christmas concert performance from the Salvation Army followed by a visit from St Nicholas.

Saturday 8th December - A Christmas Nativity performance followed by a visit from St Nicholas.

Saturday 15th December - 2 Christmas Nativity performances from the Nailsea Baptist Church at 2pm and 3pm. Followed by a visit from St Nicholas.

Saturday 22nd December - For the final Saturday before Christmas we are inviting our zoo members to get involved in a special member's Christmas Nativity and carol concert. There's no need to rehearse. We will provide the story, the costumes, the songs and the animals. On this day members will be able to bring their family and friends to the zoo for just £6 to join them. The performance will start at 2pm followed by a visit from St Nicholas. The zoo will still be open as usual for visitors.
