Get Your Wellies On For Wildlife Day – This Saturday!

5th Jun 2015

It looks like the weather might be on our side this Saturday (6th June), but bring your wellies just in case (British weather can be somewhat temperamental!) for our exclusive Wildlife Day at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. Suitable for all the family, we will be exploring the hidden conservation areas at Noah’s Ark, and you will be able to find out how you can support local conservation projects. As you may or may not know, Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is committed to protecting endangered species and we realise the importance of conservation. We encourage our visitors to see these endangered species up-close and we strive to promote education and charitable support; so our event this weekend is designed for visitors to both have fun whilst raising awareness about protecting endangered species.

This Saturday, we will be joined by Avon Wildlife Trust, RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), The Woodland Trust and the North Somerset Bee Keeping charities for the day. First up, we will be pond dipping at our nature reserve at 1pm (this is where those wellies might come in handy!). We plan to meet at the Big Cat Sanctuary, where you can meet Tiana and Khan, our resident Bengal Tigers. You’ll then learn a thing or two about the species native to this country.

At 3pm, head over to our adorable barn owl at our stand, situated near to the Monster Maze. As you will see when you visit our zoo, it is full of well-designed, spacious and enriched enclosures to give endangered animals a safe and happy home. We are privileged to be able to help maintain healthy populations of species which are otherwise unable to be released back into the wild. As well as our Bengal Tigers, other animals you will find at Noah’s Ark that are classified as “endangered” on the ICUN Red List include Gibbons and Lemurs. In fact, Black and White Ruffed Lemurs are classified as “critically endangered”. In addition, our White Rhino are considered “threatened”.

There’s plenty to keep you and your little ones occupied at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm before or after you’ve got up-close to our amazing animals. Whatever the weather, we have outdoor and heated indoor play areas to keep children of all ages amused. From our Jungle Den – ideal for under 5s – to our drop slides and 3D ‘Beehive’ maze (which covers four levels), a day out at Noah’s Ark is a guaranteed fun day out.

We do hope to see you this Saturday for our Wildlife Day, and look forward to meeting you.
