Village weavers are medium-sized members of the weaver family. Breeding males have black heads with bright yellow and orange across much of the rest of the body. Females have olive-green and yellow feathers with dark brown across the tail.


They have a varied diet including seeds, fruits, nectar and insects. 


Fun Fact

Weavers get their name from the impressive basket nests that the males weave in trees.

Where do I live?

They originate from western, central and eastern Africa.
