Our keeper experiences are perfect for the animal mad person.

Each package is designed specifically to give you the opportunity to get up close to the animals and to gain a better understanding of the vital roles we play in the conservation and protection of a variety of species.

See behind the scenes of winner of the North Somerset Tourism Award and shadow a keeper gaining a very ‘hands on’ experience preparing food, cleaning enclosures and feeding the different animals.

Choose from our two available packages:

Meet Gerald the giraffe, our two white rhinos and our new additions the zebra and two Brazilian tapirs. In addition you will hand feed some of the llamas, camels, rheas and deer.

Some of the activities you can expect in this package are feeding, cleaning the enclosures and an amazing chance to give the rhinos a mud bath!

As an assistant keeper you will be involved in holding, feeding, cleaning and weighing a number of different reptiles and primates such as the mississippi alligator, corn snake, boa constrictor, gibbons, tamarins, lemur and many more.

Included in this package is an opportunity to meet our primates. Help to feed and clean the different apes and monkeys housed around the zoo.

Each experience costs £80.

Available all year round Tuesday to Saturday We can only accept one person on each experience on each day so book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Like many other zoos who offer keeper for a day, our introductory offer includes the Keeper Experience from 8am – 10am with full day admission into the Zoo for the keeper and one sponsor.

The keeper will recieve a keeper pack at the end of the day’s activities.

You must be fit and healthy to take part.

Minimum age requirement is 10 years old.
