The Egyptian Goose is unusual for its wide variety of nesting sites - some nest on the ground like other geese, others will use cliff ledges, old buildings, or disused nests in the crowns of trees.

Egyptian Geese, (Alopochen aegiptiacus) are fairy common in fresh-water habitats in the Nile Valley, Tunisia and sub-Saharan Africa.

The sexes are alike in appearance, but there is a voice difference; the female makes a grunting honk and the male hisses.

Like the rest of the duck (anatidae) family, they are omnivorous, eating insects, small frogs grass and seeds. We feed our on mixed corn.

They lay 5-8 eggs in a clutch, which take 28 days to incubate. The goslings can swim from birth.
