Charlie

Chameleons can change the colour of their skin to match their surroundings or their emotions.

They do this by contracting and expanding sets of pigment (colour) cells.

They also have the longest tongue of any animal, sometimes up to 2 times the length of their own body. It is extended like a telescope very, very fast, to catch insects. It can hit prey in 30/1000ths of a second.

They have eyes that swivel independently but can work together to form binocular vision to aim their tongue accurately at prey. Their toes are fused together in opposable bundles of 2 and 3 toes. These are good for grasping and climbing.

They eat insects, but can also eat small birds, lizards and plant matter.
