Percy
The Peach Throat Monitor is an arboreal lizard native to the island of New Guinea.
Peach-throats are partially terrestrial, but spend considerable time in trees and along riverbanks. Peach throat monitors prefer dense forests and are excellent climbers.
Diets of various species of monitor lizards include fruit, invertebrates, mammals, birds, fish, eggs and carrion.
Monitor lizards tend to be robust, diurnal lizards, with non-autonomous tails and long, forked tongues. They possess a relatively high metabolic rate for reptiles and several sensory adaptations that benefit the hunting of live prey.
