Day geckos have the ability to walk on smooth, vertical surfaces and even on ceilings.
Most member sof the Gecko family are nocturnal animals. However the Day Gecko differs from the norm.
Day Geckos inhabit the island of Madagascar which lies off South-East Africa and can also be found on some of the nearby islands.
Day Geckos have the ability to walk on smooth, vertical surfaces and even on ceilings. Their toes have scales on their underside which are widened out as cushions. Lots of bristles are found on these cushions and these bristles branch out into even smaller elements which can only be seen with a microscope.
To escape predators the Gecko has a tail which easily breaks off. The predator has to content itself with the tail while the Gecko manages to escape.
Day geckos live in trees. They are solitary living animals but sometimes can be seen in pairs. Males are very aggressive towards each other.
