We are privileged to be able to provide a home for some particularly special endangered species here at Noah's Ark and we realise the importance of conservation in protecting their current numbers both in their natural habitats and in captivity.
We believe that by offering well-designed, clean and spacious enclosures to endangered animals here in the zoo we are contributing to helping maintain healthy populations of captive animals which are unable to be released back into the wild. This provides us with an opportunity to educate the public about the threats faced by endangered species along with general information about habitat and biology.
We have Bengal Tigers, White Rhinos, Gibbons and Lemurs here which are all classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List. Rhinos are critically endangered, with only around 21'000 left in the wild.

Some naturalists argue against displaying captive populations of endangered animals in zoo's - we disagree, as most would have to be kept in artificial confines regardless of whether they are on display to the public or not. Why not encourage people to see them first hand, raise awareness about their plight and hopefully encourage charitable support for related conservation projects abroad? We take the physical and emotional welfare of our animals seriously and put this before the demands of enthusiastic visitors.
